The characters in happy endings are each truly striving for their own happy ending to their individual stories. In this show open, we use pages from their story books to build elements. A continuous camera move upwards subtly communicates the idea of reaching for dreams by always pressing on and discovering what’s just beyond the horizon. Photographs of memories the characters share together are incorporated into the diorama style environment. The journey through the bright, good times of their lives as well as the darker, discouraging times represent what the characters encounter. The title ends at sunrise with a photograph of main group together as a new day begins, one chapter closer to their “happy ending”.
